LED INDICATORS: What resistor and how many should I use to control the flash rate?
Simple answer:
Normally 1 x OF373 resistor per indicator is sufficient to get the flash rate but occasionally as much as 2 per indicator is required.
Technical answer:
To work out how many watts/ohms are required so the right resistor can be used on each indicator, we assume a motorcycle is producing around 13.4Volts when running.
On this basis we calculate that each resistor has the following value.

Resistor part OF373: 9.8ohms = 18.32 W (at 12.6V = 16.19W)
Resistor part OF374: 21.5ohms = 8.35 W (at 12.6V = 7.38W)

If you add the bulb wattage of the front and rear indicator together (down 1 side of the bike) it is likely to measure 42Watts or 20Watts.
Then check the lens on the indicator and note the wattage shown (average is 2W), then double it.

So assuming you take 42W and an average of 4 Watts for the indicators, this leaves 38W to replace with resistors. Therefore, 2 x OF373 resistors (36.6W) should be enough to make the indicators flash at the right speed.

If the standard bulbs total 20W then in theory only 1 x OF373 resistor is required with the average LED indicator.
